Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has revealed that the government will allocate an additional GH¢1.5 billion to resolve outstanding claims from financial management companies.
This announcement was made during the presentation of the 2024 mid-year fiscal policy review in Parliament on Tuesday, July 23.
Dr. Amin Adam also disclosed that the government has approved plans to reintroduce road and bridge tolls in 2025.
This move, according to him, is part of a broader strategy to improve infrastructure funding and management.
In his address, Dr. Amin Adam emphasized the government's commitment to addressing financial obligations and maintaining fiscal discipline.
He noted that these measures are aimed at enhancing economic stability and supporting national development efforts.
“Mr. Speaker, Cabinet has also granted approval for the disbursement of an additional 1.5 billion Ghana Cedis to settle outstanding claims relating to the financial management companies; the establishment of a framework for the re-introduction of Road and Bridge Tolls in 2025,” he disclosed.
