A 27-year-old who works at a supermarket as a security man has been found dead in a river at Mankessin in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
According to the report, the deceased Akwesi Appiah-Adjei went to River Okye-Amissah to swim after offloading some items from a vehicle to the supermarket but has since gone missing for three (3) days.
Reports has also revealed that some teenagers who were at the scene rushed to the house and reported the incident but nobody made an attempt to rescue Appiah-Adjei.
The rescue team who were later informed went to the scene in a bid to rescue him but returned home as the attempt made proved futile.
On Saturday, June 1, 2024, a woman who was fetching water found the body floating on the river. As she was engulfed with fear and panic quickly rushed home and informed the community members about the development.
Police officers from the Mankessim Division who were deployed to the scene with the support of the residents retrieved the body.
