Breman Asikuma: The Current Impasse At Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the early hours of the day, the great and concerned people of Breman Asikuma were left in total disarray when the Paramount Chief of Breman Traditional Area, Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, who doubles as the President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs and his sub-chiefs have employed the services of excavator operators to demolish buildings and properties belonging to the concerned families and individuals.

Portions of that stretch of land were affected, and a tip of from within their caucus made said that, in the late hours of yesterday, the remaining portions were going to be demolished too.

This attempt to bring down all structures on the land prompted the yet to be affected individuals to form alliances to resist the supposed work of the traditional house.

The property owners have never slept since the time the demolishing exercise started, and this has engineered the employment of the services of strong tugs from near and afar to come and resist them.

The presence of the opposing tugs has called for exchanges of warning shots to scare themselves.

The reason, according to the reports received from the Traditional Council, says the Paramount Chief doesn't want any structure to block the face of the Palace.

Residents, therefore, pray calm is restored as this impasse has affected every activity that goes on in Breman Asikuma, especially the roundabout.
The roundabout is traditionally known for doing all day market, including nights.

People have been left to run for their lives because of the persistent exchanges of bullets in the air.

Residents call on all media houses and stakeholders, especially the security agencies who matter in the peace and security of the country, of which Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District is not an exception to intervene in order to restore calm.
